“Eco-products” generally refer to environmentally friendly products, but there is no universal definition. In the Eco-products Directory 2012, they are defined as “products and services that have reduced environmental impacts compared with conventional versions with similar functions and are environment friendly, reflecting the voluntary efforts of the manufacturers to care for the environment.”
Eco-products include not only industrial products but also goods and services in the areas of agriculture, tourism, and finance as well as those aimed directly at environmental impact reduction (i.e., eco-businesses, such as the production of pollution control devices, waste disposal/recycling, and consulting). The Ecoproducts Directory 2012 is comprised of four main categories: materials; components; products; and services

Vietnam Energy Efficiency and Cleaner Production Financing Program

The Vietnam Energy Efficiency and Cleaner Production (EECP) Financing Program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve resource utilization by increasing available financing for cleaner production and energy efficiency investments. The project works with selected commercial banks to build market strategies and tailored financing products, and targets enterprises looking to upgrade their production systems and technologies to achieve greater energy efficiency, cost savings, productivity, and environmental performance.
The project also seeks to establish and expand a network of technical service providers to deliver EECP training and services to banks and enterprises nationwide. All project activities are supported through awareness raising efforts that help businesses recognize and understand the economic and environmental benefits of investing in energy efficiency and cleaner production.
