As nitrogen, phosphorus is a nutrient for the plant.
Rock phosphate is main source of phosphorus, but plant can't uptake it becauce rock phosphate is insoluble. Rock phosphate is needed to process into soluble form, like superphosphate, by H2SO4, a strong acid. Plant can uptake superphosphate.
There are some bacteria, which can excrete organic (weak) acid to solubilize rock phosphate, in rhizosphere of plant. These bacteria work like phosphate factory and could be used for making phosphate biofertilizer.
Like nitrogen biofertilizer, phosphate biofertilizer contains billions phosphate solubilizing bacteria in one kilo fertilizer. Peat, a little sugar, rock phosphate and water are food for bacteria. It can multiply in this mixture, even when it's spread in
